reddit bitcoin credit card

I'm a networking and games programmer. After years of people asking me why I never bought any Bitcoin, I decided to take the plunge today. And I should emphasize TODAY, because I've been working on buying some ALL DAY, and I still don't actually have any that i can spend.I've bought countless things online instantly over the years, where I go to a website, type in my Visa card number, and have the thing shipped out to me that same day.Not just places where I have an established relationship (like Amazon), but also small retail websites.So... I've got a Visa card here.Should be able to get some Bitcoin in a few keystrokes, right?First, I tried Coinbase. After typing in way more info about myself than I was comfortable giving, they needed to verify my card before I was allowed to use it.They made two small withdrawals, but sadly, those both got declined by my bank the first time.I could see them, but Coinbase wouldn't let me enter them.I cleared this up with my bank, but there's a 12 hour waiting period before Coinbase will send more verification payments.
So no go there.Next, I tried a hybrid approach, using CEX.io as an exchange, and then Blockchain as a wallet.Maybe I don't even need a wallet if I can send them out directly from CEX.io, but I wasn't sure, so I signed up for both.bitcoin kopemCEX.io's new account procedure was even MORE invasive than Coinbase.recibir bitcoin gratisI had to take a picture of myself, my card, my ID with my card, etc. Plus more random withdrawals that I had to check and verify.circle ceo bitcoinThen of course my initial deposit was blocked by my bank.litecoin 5 gpuWhen do I usually spend money in the UK, after all?litecoin hardware efficiency
After waiting on hold with my bank for a long time, I finally got it cleared up (many hours later after first setting up CEX.io), and with the bank guy on the phone, with his hand on the PERMIT EVERYTHING switch, the CEX.io charge finally went through.litecoin gpu miningThen I made the exchange on CEX.io.bitcoin euro preevI now have $100 USD worth of bitcoins.bitcoin betting botLet's transfer it to my Blockchain wallet.bitcoin predictions redditOh wait, CEX.io has a 48 hour waiting period before withdrawals from new accounts. After they hand verified my ID and everything?I mean, they sent my first ID pic back because I gave them an expired license by accident.A human is checking each new account.
Oh, wait, there's an extra process if you want to withdraw right away.So I have to take EVEN MORE PICTURES of myself, my ID, and this time, a scan of a bank statement to give them proof of address.Plus, fill out a 3-page form with all of my personal, private info (including birth town, SSN, etc).Unfortunately, when I finally finished this application, there was some glitch in the final submission, so I can't tell if it actually went through.Do I try doing the whole thing again? And there I sit, with $100 in bitcoin still locked in CEX.io for 48 hours. And I realize that this is the way it HAS to be, because the potential for fraud is so enormous.Once the bitcoins are gone from CEX.io, they are GONE, chargebacks and fraud claims be damned. When you order something by mail, it GOES TO YOUR ADDRESS, so if you're paying with a stolen card, or issue an unfair charge-back, they at least have a hint about where to find you.In other words, I don't think this problem with entry into Bitcoin will EVER get better.
I'm not going to sell you Bitcoin in exchange for USD without making you jump through hoops to prevent myself from being burned.Yes, probably banking regulations make this harder. But even without those regs, the fraud problem remains. But the irony of having to cough up so much personal info to use an "anonymous" currency is palpable. And yes, after it leaves CEX.io, anonymity kicks in... Or does it?Doesn't the blockchain record a trail back to my account at CEX.io, where all of my personal info was collected? This is more personal info than I've ever had to cough up for anything online.I've never photographed my ID before... Anyway, WHO, except the super dedicated or specifically motivated, is going to go through all of this?Edit: After typing this, it seems like CEX.io has approved my application for withdrawal today (waiving the 48H waiting period).So... 9 hours, two bank phone calls, seven photographs, and one scan later, I have some Bitcoin to spend!Bitstamp adds Credit Card purchase for US customers!
