Christian started his career as a mathematician doing research in Algebraic Geometry, followed by a deep dive into quantitative finance developing and implementing derivatives pricing models at Bloomberg.After venturing down the Bitcoin rabbit hole he discovered Ethereum and ConsenSys.Christian is now working on a diverse set of projects including accounting systems, document signing, wallets, and various financial applications.He also maintains a general overview of ConsenSys projects and provides technical expertise when needed.When not in the Blockchain world Christian enjoys scuba diving in the waters of the NorthEast US.Thessy Mehrain is a user experience designer and product strategist.At ConsenSys she creates experiences for enterprises that look to gain efficiency and transparency via the blockchain, and designs products that are uniquely enabled by blockchain technology to disrupt existing markets or create new ones.Thessy holds a Masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction.Prior to joining ConsenSys, she was VP of User Experience/Product Strategy at JPMorganChase for 6 years, partnered in a consultancy, and had a start-up which co-created a scientific peer review system/digital library for the Association of Computing and Machinery (ACM).

Working at the intersection of technology, transaction and social change, she promotes diversity as essential to creating a world that works for everyone.She taught UN teams innovation methodologies, works with the Alternative Banking Group on financial inclusion, consults on Women’s Leadership and started the NYC Women-in-Blockchain Meetup.Alex is a software engineer with a background in applied physics.After earning his master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin, he worked as a software engineer at a financial technology startup whose system was interfaced with conventional payments infrastructure.Although he had been familiar with cryptocurrencies for some time, Alex became immersed in the blockchain space when he learned about Ethereum and realized the impact it could have on large, established industries.He is excited to participate in the growth of blockchain technology.Zac became interested first in cryptography, and then Bitcoin in 2014.He imagined new uses built on top of Bitcoin, but never acted on any of them.

After a friend told him about Ethereum, he became hooked and left his security job in late 2015 to pursue the exciting new tech full time.He imagines a future with more individual freedoms, as well as greater social prosperity and Ethereum is key to getting us there.Milad is a Software Architect with a passion for designing stable, scalable, and maintainable code.He is a senior developer with 10 years of experience in software development.While specialized in middle-tier server-side languages, he also has experience in the development of the relational databases and user interface layers.This wide range of experience allows Milad to mentor and fill gaps in development teams, filling a full-stack roll.He loves using and playing with new technologies while valuing the stable and predictable nature of mature ecosystems.Peter has over 25 years software development experience.He is passionate about people, what motivates them and what inspires them.He has worked in a diverse range of industries, creating software and leading teams of developers and engineers.

His experience with power utilities, insurance companies, educational institutions, banks, regulators and Asset Managers lead him to a place where he felt there must be a better way to transact and share data.In 2014 he was exposed to blockchain technology.Seeing the potential of this disruptive technology he immersed himself in fully understanding how the technology worked and how it would impact the world.For 2 years he headed up the blockchain technical team at FirstRand Bank, the biggest bank in Africa before joining ConsenSys in March 2017.He is currently responsible for delivery on a number of ConsenSys Enterprise projects.Nchinda is an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) studying computer and political science.As an officer for the MIT Bitcoin Club he spends his time researching and developing decentralized applications and neocurrencies.He has a strong background in altruism as a former member of the National Youth Leadership Council and during high school co-founded a non-profit, Lead2Change Milwaukee.

His persona exists as much in physical as in electronic mediums as Firescar96.Before joining ConsenSys, Daniel founded Basebit, a Bitcoin Exchange based on Brazil where he currently lives.His entrepreneur career started in 2005 when he founded MobileBR, the first Brazilian company to offer a mobile trading platform.Among its customers, MobileBR had the presidential ministers, Brazilian Central Bank directors as well as the biggest banks and Brokerage Houses in Brazil.He has a BSc degree in Computer Science and a MBA in Financial Markets.His previous experience includes working with genetic algorithms, data mining, distributed systems and general artificial intelligence.He is passionate about new technologies and is particularly amazed with the possibilities brought by the BlockChain.He believes Ethereum is going to play a big role in that field and he feels very lucky to be fully involved with it.Connor is a senior at Middlebury College majoring in computer science and economics.He has always been interested in finance and emerging technologies and began trading bitcoin summer 2013 after following it for some time.

His passion for bitcoin and other blockchain based technologies has grown into a drive to change many aspects of our global financial and social systems to be more efficient, transparent, and secure.Marian Oancea is a full-stack developer with over 12 years of experience in web development.Over the last 3 years he’s been closely working with blockchain technologies joining Ethereum from the early beginnings, helping put together the ether sale, contributing to the web3.js library and developing the ethereum network stats dashboard (ethstats.net) from the ground up.In the present he is working with ConsenSys on projects like uPort (the identity management platform), Inflekt (the events and community management platform), Ujo Music and others.Stefan is a software developer who has always been interested in the brand new technologies.He started working as an iOS developer when he was studying Computer Science at University “Politehnica” of Bucharest.After he finished university, he discovered that web 3.0 is more interesting than mobile and the advantages of blockchain outweigh the old technology.. That’s why he’s now a member of ConsenSys, where he is a front-end developer and also learns back-end programming languages, determined to become a full-stack programmer.

Stefan is convinced that programming is like nature: powerful and fun and believes that mathematical concepts are what drives everything forward.Johannes graduated from Technische Universität in Dresden, Germany where he received a Masters degree in Mechatronics.Johannes is currently a Ph.D.He has been following the rise of cryptocurrencies from the beginning, a history immutably sustained in the various blockchains.Data is Johannes’ medium and he loves to mold information into beautiful illustrations.By creating a blockchain analytics platform he is making the inherent transparency of the public ledger accessible to anyone.Maurycy Pietrzak is a Decentralization and Identity Engineer at ConsenSys.He holds a B.S.in Computer Science from Tufts University and has over a decade of industry experience in companies large and small.Maurycy has a passionate interest in emerging technologies and the future of computing.He is deeply enthusiastic about the potential of Ethereum.Julian studied finance at the University of Michigan, while playing online poker professionally by night.

He then worked as a prop trader for Chimera Securities until discovering Bitcoin in January 2013.His mind properly blown from the possibilities of digital property on decentralized platforms, he has been immersed in the world of software ever since.Julian is working on several projects within Consensys, with a focus on gaming.Sean is a determined engineer, building software to decentralize the global financial-legal infrastructure.After graduating from the University of Texas with degrees in Math and CS, Sean joined ConsenSys working on an energy trading platform.Sean is focused on developing robust exchange protocols, and off-chain scalability solutions for the Ethereum ecosystem.Sean also enjoys designing user interfaces on web and mobile platforms, with an eye for making blockchain technology accessible to consumers.Carolyn has a background in social science and organizational systems research.She recently earned her Master’s in macro social work at Boston University, and made the switch to the tech sector after understanding how technology is becoming the evolving force behind humanity.

Carolyn is Director of Operations at ConsenSys, She is also a co-founder of Fabriq, a identity and reputation management system for communities built on Ethereum.Carolyn recently moved from Boston to NYC, studies ballet & modern dance, and serves on the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge’s cleantech committee.Ryan received his PhD in Mathematics from Harvard University in 2011 and was a postdoctoral assistant professor at the University of Michigan from 2012–2015 until being introduced to Consensys.He became interested in Haskell through word of mouth during the months before and joined the BlockApps team after learning about it as a development opportunity in the language.Although he has been a periodic observer of Bitcoin, this was his technical introduction to blockchain technology and he has since been intrigued by its possibilities to breathe life into purely virtual creations.Before turning to blockchain programming, Ryan specialized in the mathematics of algebraic geometry and representation theory.

He is a native of New York City, lived in Cambridge, MA for six years during graduate school and Chicago for four years during college at the University of Chicago, and met his wife Marisa in Los Angeles shortly before moving to Ann Arbor, MI, where they currently live.Simon builds decentralised applications for use in the music industry, online communities and the developing world.He has been in the Bitcoin/blockchain space since 2011, developed a decentralised band around a full blown cryptocurrency, and is writing a book on the blockchain.He previously worked on research into the design & maintenance of online communities (earning a Master of Arts, cum laude, in Socio-Informatics from Stellenbosch University in South Africa) & was a member of the MIH Media Lab, one of the premier multi-disciplinary post-graduate research labs in Africa.Before getting into blockchains, he created 2 successful side-projects (Tweekly.fm & TwimeMachine) used by more than a million people.Tweekly.fm has sent more than 30 million updates to social media platforms over its existence.

When he is not developing new technology, he is a musician by night.Jeff Scott Ward has been a long time Bitcoin and Crypto-Currency supporter.He first became involved in the industry with Bitcoin mining in 2011, and now is an advocate for the potential of distributed systems and smart contracts.He now also advocates for the JavaScript/Front-end community, relative to building decentralized applications, and the tools necessary to be productive in building the Web 3.0 internet economy.Prior to ConsenSys, Jeff Scott helped build the interfaces for the Bitcoin OTC trading platform at TradeBlock and the New York Stock Exchange-backed ACE Portal’s private equity trading platform.He also worked as the Lead UI Engineer at 360i, a large scale New York City-based digital agency.Michael Sena is a Product Manager for Uport at ConsenSys.Michael brings a diverse background in product management, technology consulting, capital markets, and political economics to the blockchain.In previous roles, he designed and deployed consumer and enterprise technologies for some of the largest organizations in the world, managed a portfolio of international financial securities, and launched a startup.

At ConsenSys, Michael is using these foundational experiences to unlock value on a global scale by building applications for the emerging blockchain economy.He believes that exponential blockchain adoption is only a beautiful Dapp away and is passionate about getting these products into the hands of people.Eva is dedicated to forging technology on the anvil of human-centered design.After working as a geospatial developer, she helped lead transit and geospatial UX at open source organizations OpenPlans and OpenGeo.She holds a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon.At ConsenSys, Eva works on improving developer and end-user experience for Ethereum-based dApps.Outside of work she is often hanging out with furry animals.Ben Siegel is the Impact Policy Manager at ConsenSys.He is working on bringing blockchain technology into humanitarian work.After spending time working in the political sphere, Ben became extremely interested in experimental technologies and the potential they had for the impact sector, leading him to ConsenSys.

James Slazas has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry.At Lehman Brothers, James managed a proprietary arbitrage book of derivatives and created a global risk management group for the HNW exposure of the London, Swiss and Hong Kong banks.Later James co-founded a hedge fund managing a portfolio of life settlements, uniquely acquiring assets as contributions as well as pricing assets from both the VBT mortality tables, as well as, underwriting internally to determine longevity risk.Utilizing the healthcare components of the fund, James successfully negotiated a preferred status from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Regional Extension Centers of AZ, CA, FL, NJ, and NY to rollout Med A-Z/Healthcare Inside’s nationwide electronic health record (EHR) and billing services as well as a joint binding agreement with HCL America, a ‘$6 billion publicly traded company to provide patient support analytics and medical billing services to laboratories, ACO’s, private practices, and hospitals.

Slazas graduated from the University of Richmond, E. Claiborne School of Business and studied at Oxford University, Hertford College.Saraswathi is an Experience Design Lead with work ranging from Bloomberg, to Wieden and Kennedy, to computer vision start-up VeePio, and beyond.At ConsenSys, she is thrilled to take part in the creation of user-friendly, inclusive dApps for an omni/IOT universe.In her rare off-hours she produces music videos, participates in hackathons, and plays with AR/VR as a means of subversion Gonçalo is a passionate hacker since he can remember.Disassembling stuff was always his business, either online or at home.He completed the first few years of a MSc in Aerospace Engineering before leaving university to found three different startups in three different areas.He fell in love with Ethereum since its inception, and with decentralization a couple years earlier.Since then he has become an unapologetic technocrat that really believes in humanity (with a little help from smart contracts).

In his free time you’ll find Gonçalo writing or exploiting solidity code, climbing, or playing paddle.Ryan serves as a software engineer at ConsenSys, predominantly working on decentralized applications for global capital markets.Ryan brings with him experience as a full-stack software developer, quantitative analyst, and entrepreneurial experience founding prior companies.Vlad is a graphic designer, who has spent the last 7 years perfecting his art.Whether he needs to draw the perfect logo or to create an entire concept for a new project, one thing you can depend on: he will get to the very core of the idea behind the company and build a complete visual identity, starting with the basics and paying extra attention to the finishing touches, the small but oh-so-important details.Having graduated Photography, he is vastly aware of how much an image conveys, and uses his acumen to put stories and histories into visuals.After working on projects for the likes of Heineken, McDonalds or Ikea, he now comes to Consensys with a desire to learn more and to perfect his skills in a different environment.

Gabriel’s background is in being a jack of all trades and a Master of Accounting Science.After receiving his CPA certification and working a year in public accounting, Gabriel helped to pioneer the first blockchain research initiative at KPMG.He has been actively following the development of the blockchain space since he was at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he led several student-run consulting engagements, won national and regional business case competitions, and re-booted a chapter of the largest fraternity in the world.Gabriel’s current focus is on Ujo Music and bringing the blockchain to creative fields for artistic identity and rights management.Russell graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.Following his undergraduate years, Russell eventually received a Masters degree in a different discipline but was first the CTO and co-founder of two mobile and social applications companies, where he wrote software, directed product management, and aided business development.

Russell was the CTO of the first company, Vortex Mobile, a digital marketing agency that built its own social and mobile products on SMS, Facebook, iPhone and Android (… and Blackberry).It was acquired by Transcontinental Inc.Russell was a co-founder of Vortex Connect, a mobile workforce software provider that was acquired by RedPrairie (now JDA) in 2012.Shortly afterwards, Russell studied research methodologies at Oxford University where he received an MSc in Social Science of the Internet.His Thesis inferred early adopter behaviour in collaborative consumption marketplaces from a case study of a car sharing service based out of San Francisco.Russell keeps finding himself having fun with new technologies and the other people who bring them to market.Before joining ConsenSys, his work in the Cryptocurrency space includes the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4) and Ethereum.Victor Wong is a serial entrepreneur and tech/product founder of multiple start-ups.He was the Founder and Chief Product Officer of the mobile family startup SmarTots.

SmarTots was the winner of the Global Mobile Internet startup award and has over 7 million app downloads.It has partnerships with Hasbro, Crayola, Apple, Xiaomi and Tencent, and received Series A investment from SoftBank and ZenFund.He was also the Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Speak2Me, the largest English language learning social network in China with over a million registered users.Speak2Me was acquired by the publicly-listed company Lingo Media in 2007.His previous experience includes working at adidas, where he developed and launched their award-winning Canada B2B portal and online store, and video/image software company Ulead Systems in Los Angeles/Taipei.He holds a patent for Conversation Advertising, a method for embedding product placement in online interactive lessons.Michael began his career at an Internet startup in the late 90s where he built out and supported early web infrastructure components.After the dotcom bubble burst, he shifted to the Enterprise where he developed a broad-based background spanning technical and business infrastructure, transformation, and operations.

Previous to ConsenSys, Michael was a Senior Vice President at Bank of America in the CTO organization where among other roles he ran Middleware and Messaging globally for the Global Markets line-of-business and most recently served as COO for the Engineering teams working on Software-Defined Infrastructure.Michael has over 20 years of experience as a Business and Information Systems leader with a proven ability to envision and develop business solutions, provide thought leadership and influence on business, technical, and organizational strategy.Michael has a Masters Degree in Information Systems Management and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.Since graduating from the University of Waterloo, Kevin has spent his time focusing on FinTech through mobile, foreign exchange and blockchain technology.He has spent the last year dedicating his time learning the intricacies of distributed ledgers and how they can be applied to various industries, but particularly in banks.
