bitcoin million dollar homepage

On April 1st 2017, Reddit unleashed /r/place to the world.I like to think of it as a modern art experiment.A user could change the color of a single pixel on a canvas every 5 minutes. This is what came out of it: A similar experiment happened in 2005 when a student sold pixels on a canvas to fund his university education. It was dubbed The Million Dollar Homepage.More on that here. The experiment starts with a 100x100 grid, each pixel having 16 BTC addresses attached to it, one for each possible color. The address with the most bitcoin received, decides the color of the pixel.Let’s look at the pixel at coordinates [45,52].The green color of that pixel has the address 1Fdi1pTd4rhUyDVtFPmCzTXpdVaxYKPzFi and a balance of 0.01 BTC.Out of all the colors which correspond to that pixel, green has the most BTC received so the pixel is green. If you would like to make it red, you would need to donate so the red address has more balance than the green balance.

I was really curious about using the blockchain as a database.I guess I found a way :) How does it work?
ethereum presentationOn a server, I am running bitcoind in prune mode, I pre-generated the addresses for each pixel and labeled them.
bitcoin kurs blockchainA cronjob asks the bitcoind through the RPC interface for the balance of each pixel and computes a JSON file and an image.
ethereum ingThese 2 output files are than transferred to a server which serves cryptoplace. For the frontend, I am using Leaflet and imgViewer2.After experimenting I think I would have been happier if I implemented the UI from scratch - although the libraries saved me a lot of time. The code is open source, you can find it here.Would you like to see support for other crypto currencies?

I am happy to answer any question you might have.Go ahead, you can draw anything! The Million Dollar Script is the original pixel script, the first of it’s kind to be released to the public back in Sept 28, 2005.The Million Dollar Script allows you to sell advertising space on your website by selling pixels!Pixels are bought in blocks of pixels and then arranged on a clickable image map with the advertiser’s link. The pixel script comes complete with all the features which enable webmasters to provide a pixel-selling service with high efficiency and user satisfaction. The Million Dollar Script is open source, distributed under the GPL License for free. How Does it Work? The script was designed to automate the pixel selling process as much as possible. This means that once you install the script, there will be very little intervention required to keep it running.Advertisers can place orders and pay with PayPal or 2Chekout or other payment methods. The transactions are processed automatically using a callback system, and there is also functionality for Admins to fulfill orders manually.

To make an order, Advertisers choose which pixels they want and place them on order. These pixels become ‘reserved’ and cannot be chosen by anyone else. When the user completes a payment, the reserved pixels are marked as ‘sold’.If the Admin cancels the user’s order, the pixels are placed back as ‘available’.(Confirmed orders can only be deleted by Admin) Advertisers upload images by themselves and manage their own link text. The Admin approves the images and links approved by the Advertisers.Admin can reject user’s image, or cancel the user’s order completely. The Admin can place the pixel image anywhere on the website using special HTML code generated by the script. The script can be used to make a ‘Million Dollar Homepage’ (see demo), or serve pixel banners on your website (see example on the left) Project Contributors Ryan Rhode – Project Coordinator Adam Malinowski – Project Founder And the many members of the community who have contributed bug reports / feature suggestions and fixes.
