The conference was co-hosted by Absa, member of Barclays with over 200 attendees attending the two day event.The Keynote speaker was Marcus Swanepoel, CEO of the well-known South Africa bitcoin exchange, Luno.Speakers included William Frentzen, Federal Prosecutor with the US Attorney’s Office, Elizabeth Rossiello, CEO of BitPesa in Kenya, Vinny Lingham, CEO of Gyft in the US, Tiana Laurence, CMO of Factom in the US, Simon de la Rouviere, engineer at Consensys in South Africa, Jonathan Levin, VP of Business Development at Chainalysis in the US and Tawanda Kembo from BitFinance in Zimbabwe.Bitcoin Events hosted it’s third Blockchain Africa Conference in Johannesburg in 2017.330 attendees attended from 14 countries (Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Cameroon, South Africa, the US, the UK, Sweden, Russia, India, the Netherlands and Brazil) with expert local and international speakers.Mr Andreas M. Antonopoulos was the Keynote Speaker at the conference.He is a well-known and highly respected authority in the digital currency and blockchain space having published books such as Mastering Bitcoin and the Internet of Money.
