AutoPartsWay, a New York, N.Y.-based auto parts e-commerce retailer serving the U.S.and Canada, has become the first major auto parts online retailer to accept payment in bitcoin.The announcement marks another major retailer that accepts bitcoin, supporting the use of bitcoin as a currency for consumer purchases.The company offers a large selection of exterior, interior, engine, AC, brakes, and other parts for vehicles.The company has opted to accept bitcoin in response to customer requests, according to its website.Users can now utilize both traditional payment methods (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Paypal) in addition to bitcoin.“AutoPartsWay is always listening to consumers and is focused on delivering the best user experience,” the website noted.The company said its decision to accept bitcoin places it with some of the biggest names in retail, including Zappos, Amazon, CVS, and even the auto maker Tesla.“AutoPartsWay is leading the auto parts industry with their decision to recognize the bitcoin form of payment to help facilitate more transactions,” the company stated.
